Taiwan-based Pihsiang Electric Vehicle Manufacturing on March 14 held a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off construction of its electric car production plant in Yilan County, northeastern Taiwan, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.

comparing efficiencies – gas and electric commercial oven?
Commercial ovens, not residential
I need some factual, numerical information with a source cited comparing the efficiencies of a commerical gas oven and a commercial electric oven. I would prefer it not be a manufacturers website but ill take what i can get. Also, you can site two sources because i’ve looked and i cannot find where i can find one source comparing which has the better efficiency. I know which one does. Now i need some waterproof. Thanks
Are you looking for economically, ecologically or fuel efficient? Electric ovens are 100% efficient in changing electricity to heat. The coal plants that make the electricity are only around 20% efficient and the power over the line from coal plant to your house loses in this area 10-20%. Electric ovens also take longer to heat up than gas, and stay hot long after you have turned off the oven and taken your food out, so they aren’t very efficient that way. If the power goes out, you can’t use the oven either.
Gas ovens heat up much quicker than electric. Most of the power available is being used because it isn’t heating water to turn a turbine then going over electric lines then changing to lower voltage to heat the oven…. all losing power with each change of energy form. On the other hand, gas prices will probably go up when the economy recovers, but electricity prices don’t rise as quick. With a bit of work its possible to change a gas oven to electric, but not practical to change it the other way around.
