How do I wire a low voltage circuit to light an LED when one or both of my garage doors are open?
I want to make a circuit using a pair of magnetic door sensors similar to the level alarms. Using a simple plug in the transformer in the garage, I want to illuminate a small indicator light inside the house when one or both doors are open. I'm not sure exactly how to connect it and what kind of indicator light use.
Oh my God – the government will not attack you for doing some wiring in your house, even if it hurts! A simple way is to solve or be creative and use a bell wireless (Radio Shack) mounted to ring the bell when the door is open (one). If the sound bothers then replace the audio device with an LED (also sold at Radio Shack) works on a 9V battery and is low-priced.
