Hired for a job, but subdue no initiation date or the offer of salary after a month!!?
In early October, I interviewed for graphic design work for a prestigious Long Island architectural firm that designs restaurants. The chief and his colleagues took me to lunch very nice and close to an hour at lunch, the boss turned to me and said, "I reflect it would fit perfectly with us, the job is yours!" Two days I received a call from him saying he wants me to join them to go to a show in New York in mid-November. He also told me that in the beginning of next week I called and set aside a day for me to come and converse in more than one salary and benefits. That was a month ago, I called his office a couple of times and even spoke with he. He keeps repeating to me "The job is yours, and hope to see at the convention." I need to know the starting date because I have to give a couple of weeks notice to my present work. My girlfriend thinks it's stringing me along. How do I handle this with him???? I'm starting to get mad.
He is stringing along and I do not really have this job if I were you. It seems that either impulsive or who is subdue tiresome to work on the internals as a budget to see if you really can afford. Just sit and watch if you contact you regarding the convention. If he does, before a live audience by ear.
