How ancient were you at your baby in the restaurant highchairs or shopping carts?
My son is 10 months ancient, sits independently but it's not crawling yet (at any time!). We went out to eat at least twice a week and usually take you on in the car seat and then sits in the my husband's lap for most of the food, eating small bites of our dishes. If we are eating something that requires two hands, we set him in the chair for awhile. Generally or have the seat in a booth bench in a stable chair or in one of the "carseat holders" that some restaurants have. When I'm on my own with him a restaurant, I bring a booster seat with tray that has safety straps. I can not stand carseat. 
So far we have place in one of those stilted highchairs restaurants have for children, and not have place him in a seat of the car well. (In the supermarket you have in the BabyBjörn.) I'm worried that you lean and fall! What ancient were your children when they ongoing putting the chairs and seats? Do you try to escape / fall?
I that 10 months is acceptable to commence to place in cart the supermarket and high chairs when you are away. My daughter was @ 6 months ancient when we ongoing this. I reflect whenever he can sit well on their own, should be fine. Permanently make sure Strap on your if .. accidents can happen but usually never tried to get out of it is occupied either eating or before a live audience with something you want to pull it out. But, each parent does things differently to what its like to:)
