handing out resumes in stores/cafes – help!!?
Im writing my resume and going to hand it out to random cafes/bakeries/restaurants/stores.
What do I say? Should I leave it with somebody effective there if I cant see the manager, or should I question to see the manager?
If its for cafes and restaurants and I can’t see the manger do I leave it with an employee? Should I choose a time when it would be least busy?
Im only 15 (live in australia)!
I have no clue in this area this wretched. any info you could give would be fantastic!!
Go in, preferably on a Friday afternoon because people tend to be in excellent moods then. Walk in, and initiate yourself to the first employee you see by shaking his/her hand and saying your name. Then question to converse in with the manager.
They will either:
a) tell you that the manager is not here
b) tell you one second, and then get the manager for you
c) tell you that they are the manager
In situation a, tell them to hang on to your resume and forward it to the manager when he/she returns.
in situation b, wait patiently until the manager approaches you. initiate yourself and tell them you are interested in a part-time/full-time job and that you want to leave your resume with them.
in situation c, say “Oh I’m wretched, my mistake,” then, initiate yourself and leave resume with them (like in situation b).
hope that helps! excellent luck!
