This city of approximately 28,000 Nahuatl Indian and mixed Spanish blood inhabitants is one of the most exceptional of all of Mexico. The traditions of the Aztecs continues strongly through the indigenous inhabitants. Nahuatl Names abound in restaurants, shops, stores, street names and housing. Nahuatl, also taught in the schools here for future generations to uphold the traditions of their ancestors. English is not spoken, but it is gaining ground in more tourists oriented places such as restaurants, souvenir shops and nightclubs. A walk around the city will have less than three hours. All flowers blossom parties and there appears to be a cathedral at each corner.
Tepoztlan Walking is a pleasure to use your feet
Getting around the village of Tepoztlan could not be simpler. Taxis are readily available and the prices are very cheap with a few pesos from any where in the city. The best way to journey, of course, is walking and should not be deprived of the pleasure of the attractions offered by the city fascinating. Just choose a direction and sunlight in the distance, stopping frequently along the road to ogle, cat or sigh with wonder. It is the only right way to know the city and its mix of indigenous folk heavy. Compact size of the city you can walk by chance one of many sites in minutes, especially around City.
His first real test of pulque expected
Tepoztlan, birthplace of the well-known pulque, the royal drink of the Aztecs is the ideal place to try something for you. There are only a few sites doing so, one of which is located on Avenida del Tepozteco beyond the facade Colorines Rose Restaurant. Find a person sitting in a small table and sign pulque. Up to three liters of water with honey is collected from the heart an agave daily. Allowed to ferment becomes pulque hot. Even in its "light" phase, three to five liters (depending on size and tolerance to alcohol) was drunk. Pulque, which has a slightly piquant, slightly unlikable smell, also mixed with red bleeding dark or currants, which is sharp pink, to be sweeter and tastier. A liter expenditure 15 pesos a glass half liter is 10 pesos and a Glass is 5 pesos. You can sip a glass of each form, free to determine their preferred form of the Aztec royal drink. Salud!
A "Star Trek" not to be missed
Take your hiking boots – seriously we headed Uptown. That is, until 30 feet above the pyramid Tepozteco nearly a thousand feet above the town of Tepoztlan in the top of a cliff overlooking the city from the horizon mountainous north. Honors Tepoztecatl pyramid, which, among other things, was the Aztec god of pulque. For the best views and to beat the heat, go early morning. You also beat the crowds that make the pilgrimage path that starts nearly vertically down the cliffs at the end of Avenida del Tepozteco. Be ready for an exciting climb an hour or more, even if the array of Tepoztlan and the surrounding area is more than worth it. The ruins of a pyramid are fascinating too. Tuck at least 20 pesos in his pocket to pay the admission fee Site pyramid. Not sure to provide small water and a camera to capture the second.

The world well-known restaurants (Antoine Arnaud, etc.) are obvious choices. My pet of them is the Commander's Palace.
