How do I creatively advertise my company services to businesses?
I run a mystery shopping business. Essentially, companies hire us to send ‘undercover’ customers into their business to report back the level of customer service received. We are looking for creative ways to advertise our services to companies. Businesses who benefit from our services are restaurants, generosity, and retailers. We have already tried newspaper and magazine ads with minimal success. Any ‘attention-grabbing’ suggestions?
For your kind of business mass marketing is not advisable, your advertising will be effective only if you are placing your advertisements in trade magazines or newspapers featuring the kind of businesses to which your business caters to.
The Thought behind this is that your advertising exchanges should be targeting a specific group.
For your type of business Direct Marketing will be the most effective way of communicating your business to your target promote.
Examples of direct marketing you can use are direct mail and telemarketing wherein you can personalize and customize your offerings. This is a lower cost-per-contact media than using a sales force or making private sales visits to prospects.
Fax mails, E-mails and voice mails can deliver your message at incredible speed at your targeted clients.
Prepare an impressive brochure indicating your offerings, their benefits to your prospects, your company profile and your track record and mail them to your target prospects.
If you are able to get their attention, capture their appeal, arouse their desire, motivate them to action – expect a direct response in a fleeting time.

Prepare a mailing list of prospects, this you can get from your ordinary phone book particularly in the yellow pages.
Better, if you can prepare a database of your target clients . The database contains much more information which you can research on the internet.
You must carefully plot and study what to say on the telephone and what to place in your mails. But this is another long tale.
So my last advice for you is, to read books or look in the internet for topics pertaining to Direct Marketing, ‘Business-to-Business’ Marketing, and One-to-One Marketing.
