What can I use to preserve the graffiti / spray paint on the side of my stand shaved ice?
I had a friend spray paint a beach scene or the universe on my shaved ice stand. What kind of lining / conservative / varnish I use to prevent the peeling paint of discoloration?
I worked as a specialist finishing 25 years and I can tell that the preparation before the initial application was the most vital fine to the longevity of the paint. Since it is now a moot point, I suggest you first know what type of paint used. If it is enamel (which it probably is), then you need to apply the glaze over it. NOT apply lacquer to a glazed surface, they become wrinkled. If you can get your hands on one as automotive clearcoat polyurethane or acrylic urethane, that would be fantastic, body shops would be a place to find and, of course, would be applied with painting equipment qualified. If you do not want to go to this extent, the use of a transparent layer of the same brand of paint used for graffiti. This should extend the life of the work for some time. More coats regularly also helps.
